Greater Manchester CND is hosting a public meeting about alternatives to war.
With unstable leaders in both the US and North Korea, the Tories spending billions on a new generation of nuclear weapons and conflict raging across the Middle East, the global situation is looking bleak.
We've brought together a range of speakers to discuss better ways forward and alternatives to war, including:
Dr Jenny Clegg, an expert on North East Asia and active member of Labour CND, will talk about North Korea, US militarisation in the Pacific and nuclear weapons.
Ann Feltham, Parliamentary Officer at Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT), will talk about the UK arms trade, Saudi Arabia and arms conversion / defence diversification policies.
The session will be chaired by Dr Kate Hudson, General Secretary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND).
Please join us for what should be a lively discussion.
This event is a ten minute walk from Manchester Cathedral, where John McDonnell will be speaking on the economy, at 7pm
NB. This is part of a week of actions and events to mark the return of the Tory Party conference to Manchester, coordinated by People's Assembly.
